BAR Job Opportunities for Auto Professionals
The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) employs a staff of more than 600 dedicated employees and is continually hiring for positions at our headquarters in Rancho Cordova and field offices across the state. Auto professionals can build a successful career with BAR enforcing the laws and regulations that protect California consumers as a Program Representative. Using experience and knowledge gained from working in the automotive repair industry, program representatives perform important and rewarding duties and services, including, but not limited to:
Mediating consumer complaints
Investigating violations of the Automotive Repair Act and Smog Check Program
Educating licensees about compliance with BAR laws and regulations
Conducting roadside emission and collision repair inspections
Performing analyzer gas audits
Inspecting government and business fleets
